Sun room door

The door from the sun room to the upper patio is not original to the house.  The sun room was enclosed and winterized later, probably in the 1980s.  It might have been a screen porch before then, but I think it's more likely that it was a covered patio.

The door region looks a lot like your standard double sliding glass door.


But it is so much better.
There are two door-sized panes of glass.  Check out that door hardware:

That's not sliding door hardware.  That's ordinary swinging door hardware.


The right pane swings open the way a door should.  On the left, it's just a big window.


But wait, you say.  What if I want to leave my sun room door open to catch the breezes?  Not a problem!  There is a door-sized sliding screen door (such as might be found on a sliding glass patio door), ready to slide into action.
