Thermostat

There are three thermostats in the house.  One controls the bedrooms.  One controls the living/dining/kitchen, library, and sun room.  The last is not connected to anything and just looks cool (I think).  I don't know what controls the artists' studio and rumpus room, but it's probably the same as the bedrooms.
Disconnected, I think.  Probably also original.

The bedroom thermostat is in the paneled kid bedroom, which will belong to the boy.  The boy, being 4, LOVES to push buttons.  We don't want him to control the climate.

I want to relocate it to the living room, which should not be hard.  I just need to pull it off the wall and unwire it:

The other side of the wall it is on is a closet.  The wires are dangling free in the closet:
The other-other side of the closet wall is the living room.  So I just need to drill a hole in the living room wall, feed the wires through, and reattach them on the other side.

As an added bonus, the wires in the closet won't traverse the closet any more, so there will be less for the boy to mess with.  Eventually, we're thinking of getting something Nest-like, but that's a project for another year.
